Today during EA's Gamescom Press Conference, a new Cats & Dogs expansions was revealed for The Sims 4. and it adds pets to the game alongside allowing players to become Veterinarians. It will release on November 10, one week before the previously announced console versions of The Sims 4. 

This expansion adds an all new Create A Pet tool that gives player the ability to create and design a pet from scratch. There are a ton of different cat and dog breeds for players to choose from and mix. Animals can also be fitted with special looking fur and mini outfits and accessories. Pets can also be assigned personality traits like regular sims, so it is quite likely that no two pets will ever really be the same.

Once a pet in brought into the game, players can train them and play a variety of games with the animal. Players can also establish a brand new Veterinarian Clinic where they can cure pets from around town from a variety of sicknesses. This expansion also adds a brand new world, Brindleton Bay. Lyndsay Pearson, Executive Producer of The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs, had the following to say about the expansion:

From dogs and cats to puppies and kittens, the new tools for customizing pets are so flexible and powerful, players can really create anything they can imagine. We know how much our community values four-legged friends as part of their families and I am thrilled at what the team has been able to bring to life.”

You can check the Cats & Dogs reveal trailer below. The Sims 4 is set to release on PS4 and Xbox One November 17, and is currently available on PC, with the Cats & Dogs Expansion coming to that version on November 10.

Pre-ordering the game on console will garner players the Perfect Patio Stuff pack. Those who pre-order the The Sims 4 Deluxe Party Edition will be able to access the game early on November 14, and get a Flaming Tiki Bar and silly animal hats in addition to what is included in the Perfect Patio Stuff pack. EA Access members will also be able to play The Sims 4 five days before its official launch on console.
