Maxis, Blind Squirrel Games, and EA announced today that they are teaming up to bring The Sims 4 to both PS4 and Xbox One on November 17. This follows a Microsoft Store listing for the game that appeared a couple of days ago.

Unlike the console versions of some previous Sims games, The Sims 4 on PS4 and Xbox One will give players the same experience as those on PC. Players can create their own unique Sims with the games extremely detailed character creator, before building and decorating a house for them with the title's room-based Build Mode. Sims can also venture around their neighborhoods and other venues in their world.

These ports of The Sims 4 offer all the content the base PC  game has, plus some of the additional content updates that the PC version has received since launch. Once The Sims 4 launches on PS4 and Xbox One, the game will receive periodic game updates and DLC, just like the PC version. Lyndsay Pearson, Executive Producer of The Sims 4, had the following to say about the console release:

"The addition of a console-version of The Sims 4 has been long-awaited by fans and newcomers alike, and we at Maxis are beyond excited to bring The Sims to new platforms. The game delivers a beautiful The Sims experience on console and comes packed with tons of the fan-favorite content, so players can look forward to the unique gameplay, self-expression, and fun that have come to be tentpoles of The Sims brand. The possibilities to play with life are as endless as the players’ creativity.”

Those who pre-order the regular version The Sims 4 on either PS4 or Xbox One will garner the Perfect Patio Stuff pack, which gives players access to outdoor decor such as a hot tub. If The Sims 4 Deluxe Party Edition is pre-order, one will be able to access the game early on November 14, and get special items like a Flaming Tiki Bar and silly animal hats in addition to the Perfect Patio Stuff pack. EA Access members will also be able to play The Sims 4 five days before its official launch.
