Today, developer Deck13 and publisher Focus Home Interactive announced that its upcoming hardcore action RPG, The Surge, which is set to release on May 16, 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, has gone gone gold.

For those that don’t know, “gone gold” or “goes gold” comes from the term “gold master,” which is a version of the game deemed good enough to be shipped to store. So, when a game goes gold, it means development is done, and the game is ready to be sold.

Additionally the pair also unveiled more information about PS4 Pro support for the game, which will supposedly come via two separate updates. The first update will arrive at launch, and enable players to play at Dynamic 4K at 30fps or 1080p at 60fps. Then a second update will arrive a "a bit later after release:" it will enable players to activate the HDR option.

The Surge will be available both at retail and digitally. It will cost $59.99 USD.
