Telltale Games took the stage at Pax West 2016 to reveal more details about the third season of their The Walking Dead games.
However, unlike the previous games in the series, Season 1 and Season 2, the team is drifting away from the “Season” tagline to call it only The Walking Dead: A Telltale Series — A New Frontier, coming to consoles, PC/Mac, and mobile platforms this November
Co-Founder and CEO of Telltale Game Kevin Bruner details the upcoming game’s premise:
This third new season will serve as both a continuation of what’s come before in our story, as well as an all-new beginning set nearly four years after the outbreak events of Season One. As a harrowing and horrific drama, ‘A New Frontier’ will explore beyond what it means to survive in a world ravaged by the undead, and will see our characters confronting the new rules of order and justice in a land being brutally reclaimed and rediscovered by what’s left of humanity itself.
Players will be able to play as fan-favorite Clementine, who is now in her teens and fights to protect her own family. The game also introduces Javier as a playable character, a family man who struggles to keep those that he loves together.
Executive Producer Kevin Boyle details further:
When we began this series, we explored what it meant to protect a character like Clementine at all costs. Years later, meeting her for the first time, Javier will begin to unravel the mystery of who Clementine has become, as her story intersects with his – both of them still driven by the things they value most long after society’s collapse.
Additionally, the game will continue to be released episodically.
