The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Will not be Released for the Wii U in Australia

In a recent statement, Activision has confirmed that it will not be shipping any copies of the Wii U version of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct to Australian markets. The publisher has cited low demand, claiming, “As with every game release, publishers decide which platforms to release based on customer demand. Unfortunately it wasn’t there for the Wii U sku on The Walking Dead.”

The reasoning behind this movie? We do not know. It has been speculated that this type of behavior echoes that of Electronic Arts and their reluctant stance with the GameCube. Nevertheless, any Australian fans that were looking forward to this game will be very disappointed.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is being developed by Terminal Reality and will be published by Activision for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, and Wii U on March 19th, 2013. Releases in Australia and Europe will follow on the 20th  and 22nd.
