Rockstar Games may be known for Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption, but the publisher/developer has ventured outside of their own properties from time to time. Rockstar published The Warriors very late last generation for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2005 (later on for the PSP in 2007); the game has achieved cult status since then, with over half a million copies sold to date.

The game was based off of the 1979 film of the same name (which was based on the 1977 book of the same name); the film, which is recognized as one of the best representations of the gritty and crime-ridden New York City of the 1970s, despite its occasional campy-ness. Many of the original actors from the film lent their voices to the game.

The Warriors was developed by Rockstar Toronto and Rockstar Leeds will be re-released as a PlayStation 2 classic on the PlayStation Network on May 28th and 29th, 2013 in North America and Europe, respectively.
