Nippon Ichi Software just announced that today its new PS3 exclusive action JRPG The Witch and the Hundred Knights (released in Japan on July the 25th) will get an update patch to introduce a new level of difficulty called "Casual Mode".

Players can freely switch between Casual Mode and Normal Mode by talking to an NPC. In Casual Mode enemies will see their defense and strength reduced, and will deal less damage to the player.

Since the mode doesn't affect the story, it's designed to allow those that aren't used to action RPGs to enjoy the plot without meeting an untimely end too often.

Below you can see a couple new screenshots sent by Nippon Ichi, showcasing the NPC used to set the challenge mode and Hundred Knights dropping a boss easy thanks to the new Casual Mode.
