In the preliminary changelog for patch 1.7 of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Community Coordinator Marcin Momot mentioned a “a new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.”
Of course that caused many to wonder on what it is really about. Momot gave further information today on the official forums:
“Some players have been reporting that Geralt’s responsiveness was not up to their preferences so we are introducing a toggle to switch between two types of responsiveness. Once you play it, you’ll be able to choose the one that fits you better.”
He also explained why CD Projekt decided to make it a toggle instead of just changing the overall settings:
“If you put in a lot of hours into the game and we change it all of a sudden, that would feel weird, wouldn’t it? That’s why we thought it would be only natural to have this as an on/off option.”
In addition to that, if you’re wondering whether the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the new patch will be numbered 1.06 as it has been so far, apparently CD Projekt decided to remove this element of confusion, and the patch will be numbered 1.07 on all platforms:
@David_Exporte There will be no 1.06 on consoles. 1.07 is the next update on all platforms.
