There Might Be More IP Mixing Like PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale In The Future

During the World Wide Studios Town Hall panel at PlayStation Experience the Sony Community Managers in attendance were asked whether we can expect more cross-pollination between IPs.

Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli brought PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale as an example (Sony XDev Europe CM Sarah May Wellock also mentioned LittleBigPlanet costumes) and explained that moving forward the gaming industry is becoming more annd more open, and we can expect more cross-pollination between IPs in the future, even if at times the possibility is influenced by legal rights.

Media Molecule Community Manager James Spafford added that the more developers get together at events like Playstation Experience, the more this kind of cross-pollination can happen.

We’ll have to see if there will be any more IP mashups in the future, and if Kratos will ever fight against Nathan Drake again. That kind of stunt is definitely hard to pull off, but you never know.
