There Might Be Squad Mode, Call of Duty: Ghosts Developer Teases

It’s short but you can tell a lot in six seconds. A six-second teaser clip appeared on Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin’s Twitpic page, clearly showcasing the Call of Duty: Ghost Squads menu screen.

With the power of the replay button, you can see two sub-menu options on the screen. One is the boring “Options” menu and the other states “Online Play.” There is a third option but that is mysteriously burred out…like a ghost (get it?).

While Infinity Ward and Treyarch have yet to make an official statement, this sort of teasing is nothing new, as Battlefield is known for its Twitter teasing. While this is just my speculation, Squads could replace Spec-Ops mode.

While no further information was teased today, the appearance of a Squads mode would also get my speculations tingling about co-operative gameplay, similar to Spec-Ops mode but with more than two players.

In case you forgot, Rubin stated in July, Ghosts fans should look forward to a multiplayer reveal in “mid-August.”

Maybe this  teaser is leading up to a Gamescom reveal where we could (fingers crossed) get an official announcement on Squads as well as competitive multiplayer.

What is for certain is that all speculations will be put to rest on November 5th when Call of Duty: Ghosts will be available for PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release dates have yet to be announced.
