Rock Band continues to celebrate the bands that have helped make them popular while they celebrate their own milestones.  This week's content consists of quintessential nu-metal band Slipknot, who are celebrating an anniversary of their own.  This week sees the 10th anniversary of the release of their 2001 album Iowa.  Harmonix is helping them celebrate the reissue of the album with a four pack of challenging songs.

This week, the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii see:

  • Slipknot – “Wait and Bleed” *
  • Slipknot – “Left Behind”
  • Slipknot – “Pulse of the Maggots”
  • Slipknot – “Snuff” *

As always, each song will cost $1.99 in real currency, or 160 Microsoft Spacebucks if bought individually.  The four songs will also be sold as a pack, the "Slipknot Pack 02," for $6.99, or 560 Microsoft points.  The tracks marked with an * will be upgradable to Pro-Guitar/Pro-Bass for an additional $0.99 (or 80 Microsoft points).

Love or hate the band, it is hard to deny their musical abilities as they jam through songs, and it has been a while since Slipknot has appeared on the game as well.  Those looking for more metal, nu or otherwise, should check out the Rock Band Network, where it seems like every week, 5 or more of the tracks released are some form of metal.
