Mattel and THQ are teaming up in a multi-year deal to create games based on what could arguably be called some of the most successful and well known toys of all time. The companies will be dipping into both the old and new lines from Mattel and plan to make games based on Barbie, Hot Wheels, and Fisher Price, with plans to expand to other lines such as Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots, Masters of the Universe, Polly Pocket, and others. The games are planned to be developed for PCs, handheld consoles, mobile devices, XBLA, PSN and WiiWare.  So in other words, everything.

Honestly if they approach this right and don't just treat it as a marketing exercise, some of these properties could make really interesting games. A He-Man action game, a Hot Wheels racing game, and a Barbie FPS? All would make excellent games.
