Harmonix Boss is Stephen Colbert Super PAC’s Biggest Donor

on February 1, 2012 8:30 PM

If you’re familiar with Stephen Colbert and his seemingly right-wing antics, you know he set up a Political Action Committee fund for former GOP nominee Hermain Cain when the former couldn’t drop his name from the ballot during the South Carolina primaries. Well, that Super-PAC fund has surpassed $1 million and you’ll never guess who its biggest donor is. If you answered Harmonix CEO¬†Alex Rigopulos, you win.

The head of the Rock Band¬†developer pledged $9,600 to the Super-PAC, more than any donor. Heck, nobody else has even gone up to $5,000 so far. Enjoy that little bit of relief from the doom-and-gloom of games business info, the most prevalent of which seems to be THQ’s confirmed plans to lay off 270 employees by the end of September.
