Titanfall, Spec Ops: The Line and Tomb Raider Devs Start a New Studio to Deliver “Existential, Surreal Horror Trip”

A group of developers with backgrounds in critically acclaimed titles such as Spec Ops: The Line, Call of Duty and Tomb Raider have today announced they’ve formed a new indie studio called Tangentlemen.

Tangentlemen is an answer to the “stagnation” these devs see in the AAA industry. In this new studio, the developers hope to take risks and trust that people will want their product.

Tangentlemen is made up of  creative director and lead designer for Spec Ops: The Line Cory Davis, and creator Toby Gard, one of the minds behind Lara Croft and the Tomb Raider series. They’ll share the creative director role for their upcoming title Daedalus, which is intended to be an “existential, surreal horror trip.”

They’ll be working on Daedalus with the help of senior artist for Call of Duty and Titanfall Rich Smith and John Garcia-Shelton, who worked on Medal of Honour and Call of Duty.

Deadalus currently has no release date or platforms announced.
