Unsurprisingly, Sony Interactive Entertainment will lead the charge among console manufacturers, while Microsoft appears to be absent for the second year in a row. Last year they opted to hold their own event shortly after TGS, and it's very possible that they'll do the same this year.
Nintendo is also absent, but this also should not surprise, because Nintendo traditionally does not attend Tokyo Game Show, and prefers to make its announcements outside of Japan's most popular gaming event.
Of course this means that an appearance of the upcoming Nintendo NX at the event is very unlikely.
