Today at the Evolution Fighting Game Championsip, two new character trailers were played revealing Toro Inoue and a younger version of the Tekken mainstay, Heihachi Mishima. Toro's gameplay varies based on which stance he's in. In the Oni stance, Toro swings a mochi hammer around while dressed as a caveman. He can also switch to a fighter and ninja stance, featuring strong ranged and hand-to-hand combat, respectively. Heihachi will feature moves from his Mishima style of martial arts, and his supers will include summoning Kuma and strapping all of his his opponents to a rocket as they blast off to the moon, an homage to one of his ending scenes in Tekken.

The Dojo stage was also revealed, featuring Master Onion of Parappa the Rapper fame. As players fight in the dojo, Master Onion will eventually kick the walls down, revealing a city scene that is being invaded by MAWLRs, of Killzone 3 fame. The gameplay looks lacking at best, featuring no visible scoring system, a time-0nly structure, with no life bars and a KO system built on unblockable one-hit kills. Community manager Daniel "Clockwork" Maniago states that development studio Superbot truly intends for this to be a competitive game, and I can't see how he managed to say that with a straight face. Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is set to hit stores on October 23rd.
