Tower Defense + Card-Game Strategy = Creature Defense

This fall Hudson Entertainment (best known for Bomberman games) will be releasing for download Creature Defense for PSP.  Mike Pepe, director of marketing for Hudson Entertainment, explains the game better than I ever could: “Creature Defense comes along when Tower Defense games are taking off in prominence and fantasy card games are beginning to be integrated into , Strategy gamers will love the combination of these two popular gameplay aspects encapsulated into one challenging title.”

Naturally every great game or concept goes the card-game route. Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, and Metal Gear Solid are just to name a few. Now we have the entire tower defense entity taking this bold step. No more mindless (but very frantic) gameplay, players will also have to consider types, tolerability, and special attacks and abilities that are added as you progress. If done right Hudson Entertainment may be on to something, so keep your eyes on this game. Maybe we are about to see the birth of a brand new genre. I cleverly name this genre “Tower of Cards,” and no one may copy me.
