Tower Offense Title Anomaly: Warzone Earth Goes LIVE This Spring

You heard of tower defense? Well, one of the newest offerings in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace is a tower offense game developed by 11 bit studios. Anomaly: Warzone Earth has already been available for the PC, Mac and iOS devices, and is scheduled for a release on Microsoft’s console sometime in spring of next year.

The game is all about maintaining a set of troops as they march toward an alien outpost in order to engage it in battle. Set in the year 2018, Anomaly isn’t your standard space marine fare. Instead of running and gunning, you’re in charge of leading a platoon and ensuring nothing gets blown up all the while deciding which route your men must take. Take a gander at a bit of gameplay after the jump.

As you can see, it’s composed of a series of escort missions of sorts. It’s up to you to ensure that your troops are in good shape once they reach the anomaly in addition to dealing with any alien threats along the way. No word on price or a specific release date outside of “Spring 2012,” but, as always, we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
