Let no one say that the Vita is dead — according to an announcement from Matt Thorson of Matt Makes Games, TowerFall Ascension and the Dark World Expansion will be coming to PlayStation Vita on December 15, 2015.

According to the announcement, the port will be Cross Buy with the PlayStation 4 version — if you own it from either PlayStation Plus or purchasing it, you will get it for free. If you wanted to jump in on it now, TowerFall Ascension is $14.99 and the Dark World Expansion is $9.99. While Cross Buy will be available at launch, Cross Save “shortly after.”

For those that are fans of the couch co-op aspect, Ascension will support ad hoc wireless multiplayer with other Vita owners in the same room — assuming you can find another Vita owner with the copy of the game in a 20-mile radius. There is still no online multiplayer.
