Trailer for Sugar Cube Might Be the Most Adorable Mindf*ck I’ve Had All Month

South Korean indie devs Turtle Cream have just released a trailer for their 2012 Independent Games Festival entry, Sugar Cube, and my is it a doozy. The 2D platformer looks to combine sickly sweet graphics and an even more diabetic main character with some gameplay that’s quite novel.

Sugar Cube┬áseemingly looks like just another platformer, but at a second glance, it is anything but. Beyond the aesthetics, the gameplay is much more complex, with background panels that flip over as you walk by them, revealing new surprises that can either help or hurt the titular character. Just check out the trailer after the jump and you’ll see what I mean.

Adorably challenging, no? With 90 levels and two endings, I certainly hope it is. We’ll certainly have more for you as the game progresses, but it shouldn’t be too far til we see the release of lil’ ol’ Sugar Cube on the PC.
