Tribes: Ascend Twinfusor Update Detailed

on July 25, 2012 9:12 PM

Hi-Rez Studios recently released a video detailing the 7th update for their newest Tribes installation. The free-to-play shooter highlights a gun that shares the patch’s namesake. The twinfusor shoots 2 discs per reload, the damage and impulse of each disc is lower than the standard spinfusor, but with two shots per reload, it has greater utility clearing flag stands. The update will introduce a light, medium, and heavy twinfusor.

As for stages, the Stonehenge stage has been modified and added to the regular map rotation. Not just satisfied with mere modification, Hi-Rez also added two new maps. Permafrost will feature a moving flag stand; its position changes based on whether a team base’s generator is working. The legacy Dangerous Crossing map may not technically be a new map, as fans will recognize it from the original tribes, but I’m sure they will be glad for its return. Full details are in the video below. Tribes: Ascend is currently on PC only.
