Twitch has rolled out Twitch Prime, a new subscription service that offers monthly in-game loot, ad-free viewing, and a free channel subscription every 30 days. You can purchase the subscription for $10.99 a month and includes Amazon Prime for free two day shipping, member discounts on new box game releases, and streaming for TV shows, movies, and music.
For those who already own Amazon Prime you receive Twitch Prime automatically. For those who purchase Twitch Prime with their Twitch account you can link it to an Amazon account for Amazon Prime. Twitch Turbo is not going away, although most all of its features are included under the Twitch Prime membership.
Twitch.tv is one of the largest livestreaming services available, with 1.5 million broadcasters and 100 million visitors per month in 2015. Primarily focused on video game content, Twitch was purchased by Amazon in 2014. Both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles have dedicated Twitch apps and are capable of livestreaming to the site. TwitchCon 2016 is currently ongoing in San Diego, with the convention closing tomorrow afternoon.
