Since its launch two months ago, the Xbox Fitness app for Xbox One has enjoyed almost one and a half million workouts, Microsoft has said to Polygon.
In the wake of this success, Microsoft have begun to consider moving the app to other platforms as well.
Dave McCarthy, general manager for Lifestyle Entertainment at Microsoft Studios commented that people were interested in taking the app outside of there homes, something the Xbox Fitness team had been giving thought to.
We realize people don’t just do stuff inside the home. We’re starting to, articulate with our teams: How do we bring that experience together across our ecosystem of devices, which I think is an interesting opportunity for us as well.
I don’t know what the specific form of it will take right now, but we’re definitely looking at phones, looking at tablets, looking at PCs and figuring out how we provide a consistent user experience across our devices.
McCarthy declined to comment when asked what the payment model for Xbox Fitness would look like when the initial year of free content expires on the Xbox One.
