Today, during the YouTube Live broadcast hosted by Geoff Keighley, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot shared a very positive outlook on the upcoming new consoles by Sony and Microsoft, PS4 Neo and Xbox One Scorpio.
“I think it’s fantastic for the industry that we can have new consoles, because we need more power. We all know that to simulate life, which is our job, we have to simulate the way we interact with lots of systems, and the more power we have the better we are.
It’s really cool when they come with new consoles. You remember, they took nine years for the previous generation and we were a bit worried. Now it’s coming along well, and I think it will help the industry trremendously.”
Guillemot also mentioned that it’s difficult to say right now how big the leap is going to be with the new consoles, but from what he sees there will be plenty of possibility to express themselves thanks to the new consoles, and do better games with a better ability to immerse players and feel real.
