Ubisoft Brings a VR Crafted Trailer for Jack the Ripper DLC

Are VR trailers the way of the future? Ubisoft is experimenting with the idea by offering a trailer for the currently released Assasssin’s Creed: Syndicate Jack the Ripper DLC that was crafted with VR in mind. The trailer can be enjoyed using Samsung Gear VR, Oculus VR, or Androids (via Google Cardboard), while those without a VR rig can enjoy through a 360 click-and-drag panorama on the video (below):

If you want to experience the Jack the Ripper trailer in VR, you have two options:

1 ) Use a Samsung phone and a Samsung Gear VR device. Get the Oculus app, launch the app, select Oculus videos, in the word list click on shorts, then download Assassin’s Creed Jack the Ripper VR Trailer.

2) Open the YouTube app on your Android phone, click on the Cardboard icon and watch the video with Google Cardboard.

Will this become the new path of advertising, or is this merely a flash in the pan? For those with a basic teaser on what Ubisoft’s upcoming Eagle’s Flight game may be like, this may give some indication. As mentioned before, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’s Jack the Ripper DLC is out today on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
