Umbrella Corps Returns to Raccoon City with RE2 Maps; New Pre-Order and Deluxe Edition Details

As the series has been celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the upcoming action-focused multiplayer title Umbrella Corps is certainly a departure from the Resident Evil games we’ve come to know over the years, though the title is still looking to honor its roots with new maps that callback to the horror classic, Resident Evil 2.

A new trailer was released showcasing two maps coming to Umbrella Corps that pay homage to Resident Evil 2: the downtown streets of Raccoon City, along with the other being the Raccoon City Police Department. While Capcom is also at work on a complete remake of Resident Evil 2, hopefully the new maps for Umbrella Corps will at least give a nice indication of what’s to come in the future.

Alongside the new maps in Umbrella Corps, Capcom also shared some new details regarding DLC, pre-orders, and premium editions of the game with its release next month. The company announced that an “Upgrade Pack” DLC will be available that includes skins/masks bearing the likeness of Resident Evil‘s many iconic characters, including Leon S. Kennedy, Chris Redfield, Albert Wesker, Barry Burton, Jake Muller, HUNK, along with weapons, patches, emotes, and more to customize characters with.

The “Upgrade Pack” DLC will be available to purchase separately for $14.99, and is also available with the “Deluxe Edition” of the game that retails for $39.99.

Capcom also announced that pre-orders for Umbrella Corps are available now for both the PS4 and PC versions, with players to also receive the “Fashion Victim Pack” with additional customization options for weapons and armor with pre-orders of the game. Players that pre-order the PS4 version will also receive a custom dynamic theme featuring music, icons, and artwork from the game.

Umbrella Corps will release for PS4 and PC on June 21 in North America and Europe, along with a release on June 23 in Japan – in the meantime, you can check out the new trailer featuring its Resident Evil 2-inspired maps below:
