Uncharted Film Adaptation to Undergo a Script Rewrite

on August 30, 2012 9:26 AM

The film adaptation of Uncharted has hit another setback. With the recent departure Neil Burger (Limitless, The Illusionist) as director, the producers have decided to sit back and wait while the script is re-written in lieu of fast-tracking the film anyway. Marianne and Cormac Wibberley (National Treasure, Bad Boys II) will be rewriting the script, originally written by David O. Russell (whom was also formerly the film’s director).

The film will be based on the first game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune; it is being produced by Sony Pictures, Atlas Entertainment, and Arad Productions. No release window for the film has been given – presumably due to its recent development troubles.
