After ten years with the studio and heading its Uncharted franchise from the very beginning, Sony announced that Naughty Dog Creative Director and writer, Amy Hennig, has left the studio.

While details remain unclear at the time of Hennig’s departure, a report from IGN cites “trusted sources close to Naughty Dog” that Hennig’s departure from the studio have been confirmed.

Before her departure from Naughty Dog, Hennig worked at the studio for over ten years as Creative Director and writer for the Uncharted series, along with receiving a WGA Award in 2012 for her writing on Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception.

Confirming the news, Sony released an official statement regarding Hennig’s departure from Naughty Dog and also reassuring that while Hennig was involved with the writing of Uncharted 4 before departure, development on the game will remain unaffected. Sony detailed in their statement:

“We can confirm that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog. The development timeline of Uncharted will not be impacted.”
