on September 3, 2012 4:56 PM

Valve are looking for an industrial designer to help them create compelling user experiences through computer hardware innovation. Valve write on their website in the ‘Industrial Designer’ job advertisement, that they are ‘frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space though, so we’re jumping in.’ Going on to say that ‘the keyboard and mouse, haven’t really changed in any meaningful way over the years.’

The potential employee is expected to have ‘6+ years of professional experience shipping world-class, high-tech hardware products’  and be confident with 2D and 3D visualisation tools. This advertisment reignites rumours that Valve may be developing their own console, dubbed ‘Steam Box’, however, these rumors were quickly rejected.

What could Valve be working on then? A console? A new input device for the PC? Let us know your thoughts below. Whatever type of hardware Valve may be developing, they have some of the brightest minds in the technology industry, so it’s definitely something to look out for in the future.
