Today developer FuturLab and publisher BadLand Games announced that Velocity 2X Critical Mass Edition will be hitting store shelves on August 25th, 2017 in Europe, while North American players will have to wait until October 3rd, 2017.

Velocity 2X Critical Mass Edition is a special edition of the previously released Velocity 2X, which includes the game, the Critical Urgency, Dual Core, and Daily Spring expansions, and a Making-Of documentary. The PlayStation 4 version will also come with the official soundtrack on CD, and a Studio Booklet. Both editions will be available for $29.99. Players who pre-order the game at certain retailers will also receive an exclusive artbook.

Velocity 2X is a side-scrolling platformer with the goal of shooting your way through each level as fast as possible. What's interesting is that this comes with a twist, as you'll switch back and forth between the perspective of the protagonist Lt. Kai Tana, and her ship.

The Critical Mass Edition was originally announced in the beginning of June, when it also received its first trailer.

Velocity 2X was originally released on September 2nd, 2014, and is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PC. The Critical Mass Edition is only available on the latter two consoles, however, the PC version is currently 75% off, bringing its price down to $4.99.
