Video Game Character Cosplay Heads to TV in Trailer for New Reality Series, Call to Cosplay

Cosplay has long gone hand-in-hand with video gaming and the gaming culture, as over the years it has become an inseparable part of conventions, fan events, and so many other parts of gaming year-round – luckily, it seems cosplay will now become the focus of an upcoming reality TV series.

With fans and cosplayers taking on the roles of video game characters from across nearly every series, franchise, or game imaginable, the new reality TV seriesĀ Call to Cosplay seeks to focus on a competition-based format where each episode will pit two cosplayers against each other for a cash prize.

Spanning a six-episode first season, the two cosplayers in competition will be given an eight-hour window to create a cosplay outfit with judging based on a variety of factors, such as creativity, “wow factor,” and more. The competitors will also be given various “themes” that their costumes will be built around during the episode.

Call to Cosplay premieres tonight, June 30th, 2014, at 8PM on Myx TV – in the meantime, you can see some of your favorite video game characters (and other characters) below in the advance trailer for the series below:
