Film adaptations of video games often fail because they place too much importance on profit, Warcraft producer Thomas Tull has said.
Doing a videogame movie has not really been done well, and I think part of the reason for that is it’s been done for the wrong reasons. If you simply say ‘How many people have played the game? How much money can we make?’ You’re doomed. You’re doomed right off the start.
Tull aims to bring a different experience with his adaptation of World of Warcraft. Details are still light, but Tull has said that two tribes will be at the center of the plot.
Fans will get their first glimpse of Warcraft at Comic Con, Tull hinted.
Warcraft is slated for release in March 2016.
