Co-founder of Respawn Entertainment Vince Zampella has announced his involvement with mobile developer Nuclear Division.
Nuclear Division intends to create the same core gameplay experience that Respawn Entertainment have long be known for.
So far, mobile gameplay hasn’t been for the core gamer. As devices get more powerful, it’s possible to bring core content to this platform. It’s becoming attractive for a lot of reasons.
Zampella will remain focused on the Titanfall series, but will also be acting as an investor, adviser and board member for Nuclear Division. Initially he intended to work on his mobile ideas at Respawn Entertainment, but decided that the developer was ill suited to working on mobile games.
Instead, he’s teamed up with Larry Pacey, a long standing friend of Zampella’s who previously worked at WMS, a producer of networked casino slot machines.
Nuclear Division is still small, with less than a dozen people currently on the team, but it has the potential to grow as production ramps up, Pacey said.
Nuclear Division’s first game is still more than a year off.
