Earlier this year, rumors had begun on a new project from Volition (the studio behind the wacky and chaotic Saint's Row series) for a new open-world title called Agents of Mayhem, and today the rumors have been confirmed true with an official announcement from the studio that the Agents are coming.

In a reveal announcement from IGN, Volition confirmed that its next project will be Agents of Mayhem, a new open-world single-player title with "a touch of the whimsical." More details from Volition and IGN explained that the new title will take place in a futuristic version of Seoul, Korea, where players take on the role of three agents of M.A.Y.H.E.M. that do battle against the "mustache-twirling megalomaniacs of L.E.G.I.O.N."

The official announcement explained that the game will be "an exclusively single-player open-world action game featuring characters with cool guns, gadgets, and abilities to toy around with," though Volition also teased "there's...a lot more to it than that though," with more info on the game to be shared during the month (and hopefully at next week's E3 2016), though no specific platforms or release information has been announced at this time.

Agents of Mayhem is currently in development - in the meantime, you can check out the game's debut cinematic trailer below:
