on June 28, 2012 12:03 PM

Atari announced the finalists in its Pong Indie Developer Challenge. The competition has groups of developers providing concepts based on Pong for a chance to win cash prizes and revenue-share publishing agreements. The grand prize winner will take home $50,000 on top of all the other benefits.

Games from finalists will be released on iOS later in the year where developers can gain from the revenue sharing. Each Pong interpretation will see a release but first place will be decided by a panel featuring Atari founder Nolan Bushnell, Dave Castelnuovo, David Whatley, and Mike Schramm.

Gamers will be able to check out the games and vote for them here.
