According to the latest PlayStation Blog podcast, it seems that we’ll have the chance to give Final Fantasy XIII-2 a shot in English next week when the PlayStation Store updates. Not much is known about the demo other than the fact that it’s free and PlayStation Plus is not required. It’s probably a good bet that it’s one of the demos that appeared at various fan and press events throughout 2011, but now everyone will be able to get their hands on it. If all goes well, people may see that a lot has changed since FFXIII drew some ire for the direction it took. It’s unknown if a demo will be available on Xbox Live, as well.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 sees retail release in the U.S. on January 31, 2012; this demo will give those already looking forward to the title something to placate them until the end of the month.
