Wargaming Grabs Master of Orion and Total Annihilation as Historical Franchises Find New Homes

on July 21, 2013 9:34 AM

Several historical franchises have gone up for grabs in Atari’s bankruptcy auction and have found new homes, as the official notice illustrates.

In the wake of the auction Wargaming purchased Master of Orion and Total Annihilation, while Rebellion Interactive grabbed Moonbase Commander and Battlezone. Stardock bought Star Control.

Now we’ll have to wait and see what the new owners will do with the intellectual properties they managed to acquire, and hopefully they’ll create something good, because there’s a sizable piece of the history of PC (and even earlier) gaming at stake. Please don’t murder our memories folks!
