WB Montreal, developers of the upcoming Batman: Arkham Origins, and former developers of 2012's Batman: Arkham City - Armored Edition, will be receiving an investment of $1.5 million from the Quebec government. The investment is for the purpose of growing the active and booming video game industry within Montreal.

The $1.5 million is part of a $63 million total investment into the Montreal video game industry. The grant will allow WB Montreal to hire at least 100 new employees with an average annual salary of $70,000. Martin Carrier, WB Montreal Studio Chief commented that, "By the end of five years, it'll be 2018, there should be 500 people here," up from the current roster of 325 permanent employees, "and I think we'll be one of the best-known studios in the world."

Batman: Arkham Origins is being developed by Warner Bros. Montreal and will be published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC on October 25th, 2013.
