Warner Picks Up Bastion, Indie Fans Jump for Joy

If you’re keeping a close eye on highly anticipated games for this year like I am, Supergiant Games’ Bastion is undoubtedly high on your list. The action RPG boasts beautiful graphics and an innovative narrative that plays around with the idea of an “all-seeing narrator,” and does so magically. Seeing it at GDC made me all the more angry/depressed/morose about the fact that it hadn’t been picked up by a publisher yet.

Well, we didn’t have to wait long, as according to Gamasutra, Warner Bros. will be publishing the game for the XBox Live Arcade sometime this summer, with a PC version coming later in the year. No word yet on pricing or a solid release date, but considering how amazing the game looks and plays, I wouldn’t mind paying $20 for the game. The six person team at Supergiant most definitely deserves it.

More news to come later of course, with maybe a review from us later on the horizon.

Allen is an utter whore of a gamer; he's completely open-minded to all games, be they AAA blockbusters or $5 casual children's games. His focus is on indie games specifically, valuing gameplay and ingenuity over sparkly visuals and ridiculous gimmicks. When he's not geeking out over the newest art game, he's out toning his sexy, sculpted shoulders while surfing epic 1.5ft waves, or having a good time with local, high-gravity microbrews.
