After a prolonged delay pushed the game from last November to its release last week, Watch_Dogs successfully pulled in some big numbers and has broken several sales records across the world, with taking its latest in the UK.

Reports detail that following the release of sales rankings from the UK in May, Watch_Dogs officially debuted as the top selling title for the month, and in addition became the biggest launch for a new IP ever in the territory, dethroning the previous champion, L.A. NoireWatch_Dogs' debut also ranked as the 17th biggest launch ever for a new game, also dethroning the previous Ubisoft-developed champion, Assassin's Creed III.

As the PS4 version of the title contained exclusive content, unsurprisingly it took the top spot for Watch_Dogs' debut with 49% of its overall sales, followed shortly after by the Xbox One (27%), Xbox 360 (13%), and the PS3 (9%). You can check out the sales rankings from the UK below for top video game retail releases, and look to see where Watch_Dogs stacked against everyone else (numbers in parentheses show previous chart placement).
