Watch Final Fantasy XV’s Art Director Create Charming Concept Artwork Right Before Your Eyes

Yesterday, at the end of a livestreamed lecture at the Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Final Fantasy XV and Type-0 Art Director Yusuke Naora had a surprise for the audience.

He pulled out his trusted pencils and started creating a piece of concept art right on the fly, giving us a glimpse on how he works to create the beautiful artwork we can enjoy in Final Fantasy games.

The video, which you can see below, also shows Naora-san’s perfectionism, making him willing to mercilessly discard results that don’t satisfy him. While he didn’t quite finish the piece, the result was definitely interesting. He promised to try and finish it after returning to Japan, and to post it online, so we’ll have to wait and see what will come out of it.
