Watch How Star Wars: The Old Republic Froze Times Square

Star Wars lightsaber flash mobs are nothing new, but to my knowledge they never happened right in the beating heart of New York: Times Square. Until two days ago.

On december the 20th, to celebrate the launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic, Electronic Arts organized a flash mob (or better, a “freeze mob”) right in the middle of Manhattan, involving several costumed actors and about a hundred fans.

I can think of several worse ways to spend marketing money. You can check out the video past the cut. By the way:  the lightsaber used by Darth Malgus is identical to the one I use in the game. I feel so cool now. ..
