Watch Some Billiards and Touch Some Katamari

Some of us were lucky enough to touch the PlayStation Vita during a recent press event. While I won’t name names (you can listen to the latest ShockCast if you really want to know who did), I’m pretty jealous of the folks who got to take a stab at the Vita-exclusive Touch My Katamari, the latest weird video for which is embedded after the jump.

The video features a dude playing billiards who makes progressively stranger shots as he turns into the Prince of All Cosmos. By the end there are dogs, alarm clocks and tambourines on the table. Don’t act surprised. You knew it was gonna get weird. The most impressive feature in the new title is that you’ll be able to use the Vita’s touch panel to manipulate your katamari as it rolls over objects.

These new gameplay features present a pretty interesting spin on a game that’s already pretty addictive in and of itself. Touch My Katamari is set to release Feb. 22, 2012 as a launch title for the PlayStation Vita. Look out for impressions of Sony’s newest handheld from the three DualShockers who were fortunate enough to stop by the NYC press event.
