Apparently, dialogue changes are only the tip of the iceberg in the increasingly questionable western localization of the 3DS exclusive JRPG Fire Emblem Fates.

Kotaku reported today that another feature will be removed: in the original game, you're able to use the touch screen to the game's characters, in a rather interesting form of digital skinship. Unfortunately, this feature will not be present in the English version, as you can read below, directly from a Nintendo representative.

“Yes, that is the case [that petting isn’t in the English version]. You might have heard somewhat misinterpreted or exaggerated information about the Japanese original game, but even in the Japanese original version, we have not included any features which are considered inappropriate in Japan.”

Since Nintendo doesn't want you to see the skinship scenes in the game, we're going to make sure you can in the playlist below, courtesy of YouTube user HiMyNameIsMaurice, who recorded them from the original Japanese version.

Incidentally, the scenes are entirely safe for work, especially if your boss doesn't understand Japanese. Even if he does, they include mildly suggestive language at worst.
