Today Nintendo broadcasted a new Nintendo Direct focused on the Wii U, showing a few of the upcoming games that will hit the console.
The clip shows, besides Satoru Iwata making an admirable effort to speak English, a new Mario & Sonic game based on the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics and a new Sonic game named Sonic Lost World (that will be a Wii U and 3DS exclusive).
Moving away from Sega we get a look at Super Luigi U, that will be released both as a DLC for Super Mario Bros.U and as a standalone packaged game. We also finally learn the release date of The Wonderful 101, that will hit the shelves on September the 15th, at long last.
Finally the clip shows quite a lot of footage of the upcoming Pikmin 3.
Ultimately it’s a rather mild episode, as we wait for another one that will broadcast around E3 and that will probably have most of the exciting stuff (and North American gamers will be able to actually get their hands on some of it thanks to a partnership with Best Buy). That said, The Wonderful 101 looks like a really fun game, and it’s nice to see it finally dated for release.
