Shantae is a little-known franchise, crafted by the minds over at WayForward, known for their recent remake of Duck Tales, entitled Duck Tales Remastered. The developer is also known for Contra 4, Adventure Time, Justice League Heroes: The Flash, Sigma Star Saga, and Mighty Switch Force! Among many others.

WayForward announced that they are developing a new entry in the Shantae series, entitled Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and have begun funding for the game via Kickstarter. Riding the popularity of their Duck Tales remake, this is the perfect time for them to develop something new. Also, unlike other Kickstarter projects, this one is already confirmed for numerous platforms including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC - all they need is your money and support.
