Last year, Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight quickly drew lots of praise and even more admiration for its wonderful new take on old-school platforming, and while PC, Wii U, and 3DS owners have been able to adventure with Shovel Knight for several months, Xbox One owners will get to take up their shovels shortly.
In a tweet from Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb, the release window for the Xbox One version of Shovel Knight has officially been confirmed for next week, with the title releasing through the indie-focused ID@Xbox program on Xbox platforms.
While Shovel Knight releases today across PS4, PS3, and PS Vita and includes a special cameo from God of War‘s Kratos, the Xbox One version’s release next week will feature special content of its own with the inclusion of the Battletoads in the game.
Shovel Knight is currently available on PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, 3DS, PC, Mac, and Linux – the Xbox One version of the title will release next week.
