Why Yes, There Are Trophies for White Knight Chronicles

Have you forgotten about White Knight Chronicles? You’re probably not alone. The game released in Japan nine months ago in December, yet Sony and Level 5 are taking their sweet time localizing it for the rest of the world. Its one of those games I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time. The PS3 is in desperate need of a good JRPG these days, but I have a feeling FFXIII will fill that role before we even see White Knight Chronicles on this side of the Pacific.

Needless to say, we have been given trophies for the game. Any news on this title is good news at this point, right? It’s unfortunate that the trophies really aren’t all that great. You basically have eight different trophies that get built on for each level. Let’s hope this isn’t all the trophies and that there are some “hidden” progression-based ones in the game, as well. If not…lame. Here’s the list.

Bronze Trophies
Bronze Horn Ornament ~ An ornament, in the shape of a monster’s horn. Given to anyone who has defeated 100 monsters.
Bronze Star ~ A medal given to anyone who has successfully mastered one weapon’s skill sets. A bronze glow is projected from your heart.
Gaman’s Stone ~ A hidden treasure given to anyone who has successfully synthesized 50 items. It’s a little bit soft, and almost looks as if it was made by a child.
Gold Medal ~ A medal given to an adventurer who has successfully risen to GR4 (Guild Rank 4). Given to show the guild leader’s encouragement.
Item Searcher ~ A copper ornament, in the shape of a bag. Given to anyone that has collected 100 items.
Red Embroidered Pouch ~ A new purse given when you have amassed 100,000 Gilda. The inside is full of hopes.
Seal of Pursuer ~ A seal given to you from a client. Only given to people who have successfully obtained an S rank in five quests.
Weapon Collector ~ A copper ornament, in the shape of a sword. Given to anyone that has collected 50 pieces of equipment.

Silver Trophies
Amanda’s Ruby ~ A hidden treasure given to anyone who has successfully synthesized 200 items. A firm ruby apparently made by Madame Amanda.
Item Maniac ~ A silver ornament, in the shape of a bag. Given to anyone that has collected 300 items.
Seal of Elucidation ~ A seal given to you from a client. Only given to people who have successfully obtained an S rank in twenty quests.
Silver Embroidered Pouch ~ A new purse given when you have amassed 1,000,000 Gilda. The inside is full of hopes and dreams.

Weapon Maniac ~ A silver ornament, in the shape of a sword. Given to anyone that has collected 200 pieces of equipment.

Gold Trophies
Gamarone’s Diamond ~ A hidden treasure given to anyone who has successfully synthesized 450 items. Gamarone apparently had this diamond made in secrecy. It is a little bit sticky. (?!)
Golden Embroidered Pouch ~ A new purse given when you have amassed 10,000,000 Gilda. The inside is full of loads of happiness.
Golden Horn Ornament ~ A ornament, in the shape of a monster’s horn. Given to anyone who has defeated 10,000 monsters.

Weapon Collector ~ A gold ornament, in the shape of a sword. Given to anyone that has collected 500 pieces of equipment.

Platinum Trophy
Platinum Crown ~ A crown only an adventurer that has mastered everything can possess. Legend has it that it was once owned by an ancient king.
