Wii U Version of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Will Not Be Receiving DLC, According to Ubisoft

While yesterday brought the news that fans can expect plenty of DLC to support the post-launch of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, unfortunately it seems like the ship may have sailed on that content arriving to players of the Wii U version of the game.

After confirming with Game Reactor following the odd absence of the Wii U in the console listings from yesterday’s trailer for the DLC or on press releases, Ubisoft detailed that the recently-announced “Freedom Cry” DLC (and future DLC) for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will not be heading to the Wii U. Although this isn’t quite so unexpected with many publishers either pulling or significantly drawing back their support for the Wii U, it’s still a bit of a shame that Wii U owners won’t be able to get some of the bountiful booty of Black Flag.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag releases for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U on October 29th, while the game will release at launch with PS4 on November 15th, for Xbox One on November 22nd, and PC on November 19th.
