Ever since preorders for the Wii U became available, the game has been selling out like mad across all retailers. A few lucky souls have even posted their treasures on Ebay, although hopeful gamers will have to pay quite a price if they're that desperate (think $500+). The demand for the console has been absolutely insane, which has lead Gamestop to create a waitlist for its customers.

If you'd like to get in line, Gamestop is probably the place to go at this point, although you will have to be a PowerUp Rewards member to access it. If you qualify and are put on the list, the company will notify you via email when your time has come.

Says Gamestop itself:

Q: How can I get on the wait list?

A: The wait list is for PowerUp Rewards members only. PowerUp Rewards members can go to their local store and ask a sales associate to be put on the wait list. They will receive a printed receipt as confirmation. Go to Find a Store to Locate a store near you. If you are not a PowerUp Rewards member, it's easy and free to sign up at your local store.

Gamestop has posted an FAQ about the waitlist here.
